First video, shows the weakness of another lasers shaft alignment technic whether "Reflecting laser" type or "two laser reverse direction" type compare to Hamar laser applying dual laser one direction type.
2) Top class Pruftechnik laser(Ultra IS, Optalign ) , they use single laser to hit two targets as "one direction" and improve error by electronic averaging technic, while Hamar laser apply "dual lasers" to hit "single target" to avoid laser target(electronic) error from two lasers targets. This give Pruftechnik can reach the best only 1,0 micron accuracy while Hamar laser reach 0,5 micron accuracy. Because Hamar laser apply "dual laser" as real averaging since the beginning of the laser sources and then hit to "only one target" . This technic is patented by Hamar laser.
Third video, demonstrate Hamar laser Lowest class S-660 that give 1 micron accuracy, completely wireless ( not option ), easy and fast operation at the accuracy that meets all top class laser from another brands.
Please also noted that the major laser shaft alignment leading brands are "Hamar laser", Damalini , Fixture laser, Pruftechnik . Whilst another laser tools are rebranded from those manufactures i.e.
SKF is from Fixture laser. However, SKF acquired small Swedish company, Groi AB. That will help SKF to develop precision laser in future.
Fluke 830 works the same exact principle with old version of Pruftechnik Optalign. Today, Pruftechnik retains these technics for low end class only, Shaftalign. In opposite,Hi-end or Mid-end which are Ultra IS and Optalign , Pruftechnik applies no more reflecting laser technic.
This laser alignment tools weakness will little effect to short distance alignment span at non- API class or cheap equipment . Because design code does not require the marginal DBSE that the internal parts can be axially removed without remove its body(housing). Please imagine API pump or turbine that has 800 m.m. DBSE or more, Hamar laser at 7 microns /1000 m.m. angular offset accuracy will give 0,4 degree(TIR) reading . But high quality alignment always requires less than 1-2 degree offset.... .. This angular measurement accuracy has never been mentioned by other shaft laser alignment brands.
